QUEENSRYCHE - Dedicated To Chaos (Released: June 28, 2011)

Here we go with the latest by one of the greatest Progressive Metal bands ever. This time we are in front of a strange album, this is different to previous work by QUEENSRYCHE the album goes from Grunge to Funky with some touches of Prog. and even Pop. I've heard many critics about this album and all they say it's a bad album, the album that never had to be made but for me is only different, in fact i believe there are some very good track, the only problem is that the songwriting is inconsistent going from good cuts to weak songs and without a definite direction.
The album opens with Get Started, a raw track with a catchy chorus that could fix perfectly in Promised Land or Tribe. The follow up is Hot Spot Junkie a Modern Rock track with no interest. Got It Bad got a Funky vibe that QUEENSRYCHE lovers will never understand while Around The World is one of the album's highlights, is a Pop track which chorus and keys has clear late 60's and 70's flavor and a guitar solo that could by played by The Edge. Higher, instead, could by signed by ALICE IN CHAINS while Retail Therapy is another empty Modern Rock track. At The Edge has a more definite QUEENSRYCHE's taste with some clear Prog. elements and introducing some sax wich is always appreciated.
The rest of the album keeps combining Modern Rock, Grunge and some Funky elements all with raw production and without brilliance.
The order in the review is different from the track listing in the album because it was made on the special edition wich adds Broken, Hard Times, I Believe and LuvnU. Broken is a strange and interesting cut built on keys, Hard Times has a jazzy groove while I Believe and LuvnU are Modern Rock Alternative tracks.

In summary, an album that is far away from QUEENSRYCHE previous work but with a couple of interesting songs. If you enjoy QUEENSRYCHE try this one though probably you won't like it.
