RICHARD MARX - Inside My Head (Released: June 1, Frontiers Records)

Richard Marx is one of those few touched by the magic wand of music, he's not only a terrific singer he's also an impressive songwriter.
Can be differentiated two parts in this new album, the first seven songs are more melodic with only a smooth modern vibe and some epic ballads while the last six tracks have a clear modern feel and are built on raw guitars.
A second cd comes with re-recordings of his greatest hits. All these songs respect the originals, i mean, they sound so close to the originals but never reach the quality of the originals, so is not easy to understand the reason for re-recordings this tunes.
Is evident this guy still owns the recipe to create good music but though there are some epic moments this one is not among his best albums.

TRIXTER - New Audio Machine (Released: April 21, Frontiers Records)

Amazing return by these New Jersey guys. Though Loran's vocals are an octave lower he keeps being a great vocalist, the guys still play an old school Hard Rock with some backing vocals a-la Def Leppard and, thanks God, very few modern influences.
One of the most respectable returns by an 80's- early 90's Hard Rock bands... Totally recommended.

GOTTHARD - Firebirth (Released: June 1, Nuclear Blast)

Is not easy to fill the space left by Steve Lee and new singer Nic Maeder doesn't do that but it's fair to tell this guy is a very good singer. After three years and the tragic death of their lead singer these Swiss guys return with a strong and good rockin' album but songwriting is weak so probably Gotthard's diehard fans will be a little dissappointed with this album.
