WILDSIDE - Under The Influence (Released: 1992, Capitol Records)

The 90's came with a bad sign, early that decade everything started to change for bad and that was reflected in music and specially in Rock music. The new thing was Grunge, so many new Hard Rock bands couldn't reach success because somebody someday decided it was time to erase Hard Rock from earth's surface. Californians WILDSIDE was one of this awesome Hard Rock bands that came in the wrong moment. Their debut album was Under The Influence an energetic and well produced (by Andy Johns) effort full of strong Hard Rock tracks. Guitar work by Brent Woods (lead, rythm and acoustic) and Benny Rhinedance (rythm) is full of strengh with amazing riffs and catchy guitar solos while Drew Hannah has high-octave vocal between Axl Rose and Mark Slaughter. Jimmy D. on drums and Mark Simons bass complete this fantastic band.
The album is full of rocking tunes with a couple of ballads Just Another Night and Kiss This Love Goodbye but the highlights are Hang On Lucy, the first single and a Hard Rock anthem, Clock Strikes with a catchy an powerfull chorus and the awesome Heart-n-Soul a pure Hard Rock gem with an astonishing guitar work... i love this song.

Everything in this album works so this is a must have for all Hard Rock lovers.
