Here we go with the latest by this band from Hollywood, California. They are back with a new lead singer, Robert Mason, best know for his work in the 1992 self-titled album by Lynch Mob. This guy has one of the most personal voices of rock and he can reach the higher notes, Jani Lane is a great singer and helped Warrant to be great but Robert Mason is simply FANTASTIC!!! and his voice fits perfect with the new Warrant. The core of the band is the same that recorded "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich", "Cherry Pie" and "Dog Eat Dog".
First single to be realeased is "Life's a song". Is a mid-tempo with a mix of classic warrant and modern flavor, a good choice for a first single that after a couple of listening will make you sing the chorus over and over. You can watch the video for this song here: http://warrantrocks.com/
This album reminded to "Dog Eat Dog", songs like "The Last Straw", "Show Must Go On" or "Sex Ain't Love" will make you jump from your seat and proof that Mason knows how to rock. "Sunshine" has a modern vibe that i don' t actually like and "What Love Can Do" is another mid-tempo with a funny use of the Hi-hat. In this album is missed a soft ballad, "Home" is a good song with some beautiful arrangement, that i wish they were with a real orchestra, but is not one of those ballads that in the future when you say Warrant will come to your head.
In summary, great production and raw sound, a good album by the hardest version of Warrant. Special attention to Robert Mason, his voice is a 5 out of 5 Rocks!!!
