ROCK THE NIGHTS is proud to present DIRTY LABEL (Interview with SABRINA ZUPPARDI)
Dirty Label is here to stay...
Fronted by Sabrina Zuppardi and consisting of Stefy Erras (Bass), Jonathan Grinfone (Guitars), Marco Dragonetti (Drums) this band is becoming a benchmark of the Hard Rock coming from Italy while their music is enjoying massive success though social networks and other digital media... and today we have the chance to know by own words of lead-vocalist Sabrina Zuppardi a little bit more about this terrific band.
RTN - Hi Sabrina and thank you for your time...
RTN - When you started singing?
SZ- I've always loved singin' since i was a little girl.
RTN - Do you remember the first album you owned?
SZ - Of course, I could never forget my first album, "The Final Countdown" Europe, I was 11 and it opened my mind, from that moment i started listening to Hard Rock and Heavy Metal and I grew up along with this kind of music.
RTN - If you could choose a song for your life, wich one would it be?
SZ - Well, it's a difficult choice, there are so many songs that i like, but "The Final Countdown" for sure can be the song of my life, 'cause when i listened to it I can still feel that thrill and it brings me back in time.
RTN - What are your roots and main influences?
SZ - As I said before, Europe of course and then many other bands such as Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Malmsteen, Dokken, Mr. Big, etc as well as Helloween, Angra, Iron Maiden...
RTN - Once you were singer of Fil di Ferro, how about that experience?
SZ - It was a great experience and also a challenge for me, 'cause the songs were written for a male vocalist and I had to work to arrenge them for my voice.
RTN - There have been some changes in the line-up of the band... could you tell us about new guitarrist Jonathan Grinfone?
SZ - Yes, the previous guitarrist had some work problems and he could not carry on with the band, so we moved fast to find a new one, we have tried some and then we finally choose Jonathan, he is what we were lookin' for, a good guitarrist with experience, not involved with other bands and the most important thing, he really knows and loves the songs we play as we did.
RTN - What other bands have been involved the members of Dirty Label?
SZ - All of us have been involved in other bands before, drummer Marco Dragonetti (Street Sonic Tribe, Sattamassagana, Bloody Mary, Snakecharmer), guitarist Jonathan Grinfone (Black Ice, Shoes in Flames, Tornado of Souls), bassist Stefy Erras (Dancing Barefoot) and me Fil di Ferro and Trilogy (Malmsteen tribute)
RTN - Your covers of Takin' Me Down (Hardline), Take A Walk (Mr. Big) and Long Live Rock & Roll (Rainbow) are great, do the band has some new covers on the way?
SZ - Thanks!!! Of course, we will record something new, but now we are working hard on the tracklist, as with the change of line-up we had to start again from the beginning, our main purpose at the moment is to play live as soon as possible.
RTN - Do the band have plans to start playing their own songs?
SZ - Yes, this is our intention, once we have completed the covers tracklist, we will dedicate to write some original songs.
RTN - So, is in your thoughts to complete a full demo and contact a record label?
SZ - Certainly, when we will have our own stuff we will record it and we will try that way.
RTN - What is your point of view about music bussiness?
SZ - Unfortunatly here in Italy Hard Rock is for a few, but I'm glad that lately many great bands are coming back with new amazing albums and it gives me hope that something could change.
RTN - Future plans for Dirty Label...
SZ - Playing live as soon as possible, recording a clip and working on our own songs.
