Once known as the sountrack guy, Kenny Loggins released this gem back in '88. Proof to his nickname is that this album contains two tracks that were released as single from to successful soundtracks, the masterpiece Nobody's Fool (Hot 100 # 8 ) from Caddyshack II and Meet Me Halfway (Hot 100 # 11) originally released as part of Over the Top soundtrack.
The album reached USA # 63 while two other singles were released I'm Gonna Miss You reaching Hot 100 # 82 and Tell Her Hot 100 # 76.
Special attention to Hope for the Runaway an anthem of Soft AOR.

STYX - Edge of the Century (Released: 1990, A&M)
After a hiatus of 7 years and recorded since April 1989 to August 1990 this album was some kind of swan song for the band. Due sales weren't impressive 3 singles were released enjoying massive success Love Is The Ritual Hot 100 # 80, the monster ballad Show Me The Way Hot 100 # 3 and the impressive Love At First Sight Hot 100 # 25, this is the last single reaching the Hot 100 by Styx to date.
Show Me The Way made Styx one of the few artists that placed a Top 10 single in 3 different decades.
Awesome album by an impressive band.

SWEET F.A. - Stick To Your Guns (Released: 1989, MCA)
Formed in 1988 this Indiana band released only a couple of albums. Their first effort was this Stick To Your Guns, the album was recorded in Atlanta but due to poor sales, the album reached a sad USA # 161, MCA decided to drop the band.
The album is full of straight and raw Hard Rock with sleaze touches, everything works in this album.
One last thing... somebody should shoot the guy who told the singer (David DeLong) to wear those shorts in this video.

RICHIE SAMBORA - Aftermath Of The Lowdown (Release: Sep 18 - Dangerbird Records)
Bon Jovi's guitarist is back with a new album after 14 years. This effort is a prolongation of his late albums with Bon Jovi embracing a modern vibe. Raw guitars and some catching choruses for a good album but not espectacular, in fact this album could have been released under the name Coldjovi or Bonplay as you will notice in songs like the beautiful Every Road Leads Home To You...
Seven Years Gone is the best song in this album and the funny thing is that Richie's vocals reminds a lot of John Wetton... is it courious or not?
Will be released September 4 and though it's ok probably it won't rule the charts.
